Make the right code, the first time.
From one product label to a batch of inventory tags or a QR code for your website, this guide shows you what to choose, where to click, and how to use the result.
Get started in four steps
Choose a tool
Open the Barcode Generator or QR Code Generator tab. General Type is a useful starting point if you are unsure which barcode format to use.
Enter your content
Type one value for a single code. For several barcodes, put each value on its own line and leave one-per-line mode on.
Generate and check
Click Generate Barcodes or Generate QR Code. Review the preview and any validation message before using the code.
Download your result
Use the download control below the preview. Sign in to keep generated codes in your account history.
Choose the right format
Choose a barcode type that matches where the code will be scanned. The generator checks format-specific input and shows an error when a value does not fit.
| Format | Good for | Input |
|---|---|---|
| General Type / Code 128 | Inventory IDs, shipping references, and other identifiers. | Flexible text and numbers |
| EAN-13 / EAN-8 | Retail product labels, including smaller packages. | Numeric product codes |
| UPC-A / UPC-E | Retail product labels, especially in North America. | Numeric product codes |
| Code 39 | Asset tags, warehouse labels, and internal IDs. | Uppercase letters and numbers |
| ITF-14 | Outer cartons and shipping cases. | Numeric case codes |
| QR Code | Website links, text, and other phone-readable content. | A URL or text |
Retail note: generating an EAN or UPC image does not assign or register a product number. Use a properly licensed number for products sold through retail channels.
Customize your code
Quick Start Presets
Under Barcode Type, pick Retail Product, Inventory Tag, Shipping Label, or Small Item. A preset fills in an example value and settings. Replace the example with your own data before generating.
Advanced Settings
Expand Advanced Settings to change bar width, height, colors, and whether the value appears below a barcode. Create Sequence builds numbered values with an optional prefix or suffix.
For QR codes
Choose a QR Code Type such as Text or URL/Website, enter the content, then set its size, QR color, and background color. Click Generate QR Code to see the finished preview.
Create barcodes in bulk
Turn on Generate one barcode per line, enter one value on each line, and click Generate Barcodes. The same barcode format and appearance settings apply to the batch. Browse results in the preview, download one image, or use Download All for a ZIP of PNG files. Create Sequence in Advanced Settings can prepare numbered values for you.
Example input
SHIP1001
SHIP1002
SHIP1003Use Code 128 for references like these. Numeric retail formats have stricter length rules.
Download, save, and find your work
Use the right output
Barcodes can be downloaded as PNG or PDF, printed, and copied. A barcode batch can be downloaded as a ZIP of PNGs. The QR preview offers PNG download and copy.
Your saved workspace
Sign in to keep generated codes in History. Use Dashboard to find barcodes and QR codes, organize them in Folders, and share a folder link when you choose to make it public.
Available generations and downloads depend on your account and plan. The generator shows a limit message when one applies. See current plans for details.
Understand your QR scans
Signed-in QR codes use a trackable link. Open Dashboard → Analytics to see scan totals and activity. Standard 1D barcodes encode the value you enter and are not scan-tracked by this feature.

- Use dark bars or QR modules on a light background with strong contrast.
- Leave clear space around the code; do not crop its edges.
- Use the correct format and value length for retail barcodes.
- Print a sample and test it with the scanner or phone your audience will use.
